I started building a wing storage stand yesterday and finished it today. The stand is based on the design by Eric Witherspoon and can be found here: http://sonexproject.com/files/wing_stand_snx815.pdf
I found that 2" bolts work better than the suggested 2-1/2" bolts in the plans with 3/8" thick gussetts. I also shortened the "U" width of the stand to 38" to fit the rib spacing on Onex outboard wing panels. As seen in Image 1, the stand extends about 9" above the aileron. The height was based on the Sonex design, and could have been shortened if desired.
In Image 2, I have added a length of 1-1/2" EMT across the top of the stand to store the inboard wing skins until needed during the construction. The skins are just drapped over the pipe, and the strap is just losely in place to secure the skins.
